Wedding Style

When we did our intention-setting for this wedding, we agreed on three things. It will be low-stress, small, and consistent with our values.

This is not a conventional, traditional wedding! The ceremony will be fairly short, and for the most part we want to prioritize time to relax and socialize with our friends.

Our wedding colors are very loosely blossom pink, jade green, and light gray. Our vibe will be smart, slightly fancy picnic. From Christopher, “It will be like that one French painting except Millennials are getting married.”

Guests should wear what makes them feel comfortable and confident.

We will provide stylish, magnetic pronoun buttons for guests to wear. Thanks for being a rad, inclusive group!

COVID-19 Safety

For all guests’ safety, we request that everyone get a COVID test 2-3 days before the wedding and/or get the vaccine. Please do your part to help keep all guests safe!

We will only be serving light refreshments (beverages, bags of chips, separately packaged cookies) at the celebration. Please eat lunch beforehand. We invite you to stay after the officiating ceremony for the Bring-Your-Own-Picnic dinner! We have a list of local restaurants below if you’d like to get takeout and support a small business.

Update 4/24/2021: We won’t require masks since transmission outdoors is very low and most people in our circles will be vaccinated. But please do what makes you feel comfortable. Christopher, Jenie, their families, and wedding party will all be fully vaccinated by the wedding date.

*Final precaution: We are only inviting friends in Wisconsin with the exception of a few family members. We will make future plans to celebrate with friends out-of-state.
